Rupert C. Koeninger, former professor and chair in the Department of Sociology at Sam Houston State Teachers College was known for his contributions to the fights for academic freedom and civil rights in Texas. He was inducted to the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, Wall of Honor on February 24, 2017.
